Adult ADHD Treatment in Florida
Online psychiatric care for adults, by secure video from anywhere in Florida.
You have ten tabs open, three half-finished projects, and a to-do list that keeps growing. You’re capable, but staying on track takes far more effort than it seems to take everyone else. Maybe you’ve always been called bright but scattered, or you only noticed something was different once work and life got more demanding.
Common experiences
Starting tasks is hard, especially the boring ones
Losing track of time, appointments, or deadlines
Misplacing keys, phones, and paperwork
Drifting off in conversations or meetings
Restlessness, or needing to stay busy
Speaking or acting before thinking it through
Locking in for hours on things that interest you
A long-standing sense that you work twice as hard to keep up
ADHD is about how your brain manages attention, not how hard you try.
ADHD is a difference in the brain systems that handle attention, motivation, and self-regulation. It starts in childhood and often runs in families, but many adults are never diagnosed, especially those who did well in school, learned to compensate, or had symptoms that looked like daydreaming rather than disruption.
It has nothing to do with laziness or intelligence. Willpower only goes so far against a brain that finds routine tasks harder to start and finish. With the right plan, daily life can become a lot more manageable.
How care works at Mode Psychiatry
Good psychiatric care takes time, teamwork, and honest explanations. Here is what that looks like for you.
Time to tell the whole story
Your first visit is a full 60 minutes, so we understand your history and what matters to you before recommending anything.
Decisions made together
You set the pace. We talk through the options, and nothing changes in your plan without your input.
Clear answers in plain language
You’ll know what your diagnosis means, why a treatment is suggested, and what to watch for. Ask anything, at any visit.
Your first visit: a careful ADHD evaluation
Your first appointment is a 60-minute psychiatric evaluation. We may also use standardized questionnaires, and past records can help if you have them.
What the evaluation covers
Your current symptoms and how they affect work, school, relationships, and home
Your history going back to childhood, since ADHD symptoms start early
Medical and psychiatric history, including anxiety, depression, and sleep, which can look like ADHD or appear alongside it
Medications you’ve tried before, and how they worked
Your personal context, daily routines, and goals
Your treatment plan may include
Medication management when clinically appropriate, including stimulant and non-stimulant options
Education about ADHD and practical ways to build structure into your day
Regular follow-ups to fine-tune dose, timing, and side effects
Referral to therapy or ADHD coaching when it would help
Stimulants are controlled medications. They’re prescribed only when clinically appropriate, after a full evaluation, with regular follow-up.
Medication is one tool, used with a clear purpose. The goal is focus and follow-through that feel like you on a good day, not a different personality.

-
Yes. Many people are first diagnosed in adulthood. The evaluation looks at your current symptoms and your history, since ADHD begins in childhood even when no one recognizes it until later.
-
When it’s clinically appropriate, yes. Stimulants are one option among several, considered only after a full evaluation, and prescribed with regular follow-up to see how they’re working for you. Non-stimulant options are available too, and we’ll weigh them together.
-
Not necessarily. Medication decisions come after a full evaluation, and sometimes we need more information first, such as past records or questionnaires. When medication is part of your plan, we’ll choose together between stimulant and non-stimulant options.
-
It’s a 60-minute video visit. We’ll go over your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, past medications, sleep, and daily life, and talk about what you’d like to be different. Medication may come up, but no decision is forced or rushed. You’ll leave with clear next steps and a follow-up date.
-
Yes. We’re in network with Aetna, Cigna, Oscar, and UnitedHealthcare through Headway, and self-pay is available. We’ll verify your coverage before your first visit, so you know what to expect.
